Some history of Cardiac Service @ UMMC, shared by Prof Dr. Wan Azman during the recent media briefing.

> Cardiac catherization began at UMMC in 1971 by Prof H O Wong & Dr. Singham

> Prof Ward Kennedy from University Washington Seatle, USA expanded & strengthened cardiology services in 1972/73

> Cardiac surgery was provided by Prof N K Yong & subsequently by Dr. H S Saw

> Coronary Angiography first started in UMMC by A/P Singham & A/P Anuar in 1982

> First PTCA [Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty] in the country [@ UMMC] by A/P Singham & A/P Anuar in 1983 on an Indian male patient with subtotal proximal LAD stenosis with good results
